Lets take a walk...

Saturday 20th Dec 2008:

Woke up at 0630hrs by a sms from Caleb "Good morning dudes, cya at the start point!!!". Then I glanced at my clock... "Eh? Its 0630hrs already... How come I'm still at home? Swee... Overslept... Supposed to meet at 0630hrs... Now I can enjoy my Sat... Eh? How come Ken nv morning call me?"

So I backside itchy gave Ken a call. He was still sleeping... We were supposed to morning call each other at 0445hrs... Just as I was thinking of going back to sleep... Ken said: "Lets go now la... We can still meet them at the start point..."



SianZ... OkayZ... For Brothers...

Our brotherhood decided to participate in this event called "Lets take a walk". Its a 100KM walk ard Singapore which I reluctantly joined becos of all the brotherhood persuasion. Its very tiring, heart warming at times, very memorable and very tiring again... Which makes it very memorable...

The walk brought me to many places which I've nv been to in Singapore which I've always wanted to go... But only the beginning few places... Which is the appetizer which makes us felt that the walk is gonna very SO FUN!!!...

Let me explain as we browse thru the pics...

This is the beginning of a new day and a new nightmare... I was waiting for Ken to pick me up at ard 7am...

Upon reaching the starting point, I thot they had flaged off... So they were all inside the building waiting cos flag off time is 0830hrs!!! And our team names is Brothers... 2 teams... So Brothers-I and Brothers-II. Hahahaa... And we've made our team name very popular along the routes...

Ok... Total we got like 10 checkpoints for the 100KM

Route 1

Start Pt (Margaret Drive) >>> Kent Ridge Park

Happily walking with the crowd u know... Still can action action... Talk cock... Fool ard...

Less than 1KM, low fuel... Thus we deviated to top up petrol...

Check out the smile we had... Such satisfaction...

Then is my FAVOURITE part of the walk right at the beginning... The many bridges that I've always wanted to go...

Then we came to this very nice place in Singapore where I dun even knew of its existence...

Then we reached our check point 1- Kent Ridge Park.

Seems so near when I am blogging abt it... Try walking just one part of the route man... HAHaaa...

Route 2

Kent Ridge Park >>> Sch of Physical Education

Nv took pics along the way... Straight away check point pic... Cos my hp batt flat... Need to conserve till next day... SianZ...

Route 3

Sch of Physical Education >>> Bishan Stadium

Stopover at Shell station along Lornie Rd for drinks n Colin Tan to shit...

This is check point 3: Bishan Stadium...

Till checkpoint 3 we're all still okie... Just abit of tightness in the leg... Only clocked abt 30km...

Route 4

Bishan Stadium >>> Kembangan CC (Killer Stretch)

This is the route that killed most of us... The sun was very hot, the rough route was from Bishan Stadium >> Toa Payoh >> Kallang Bahru >> Geylang >> Sims Ave >> Kembangan CC.

But off cos we did stop for our lunch to top up our fuel again... Hahaaa... Seriously... In my mind there was only room for food thruout the walk...

And of cos during the killer stretch my left calf n knee rang the bell... Thats it alr... Very painful... Couldn't straighten my left leg from 30km onwards...

Finally we arrived!!! By then... I can only smell deep heat, muscle rub on me... Not even odor from perspiration...

Can tell I was really walking very hard???

Route 5

Kembangan CC >>> Tampines Sports Hall

Then we reached Tampines Stadium... But no pics... And you can soon realised our pics are getting lesser along the way cos everyone is 脸臭臭... And no mood le... Really siong... My legs, I cannot feel my legs... I was quite afraid that I might limp permanently... Hahaa...

Tampines Stadium >>> Pasir Ris Park Carpark E

Dinner at Tampines mall 1st... And bought alot of medication stuff like muscle rub and deep heat spray and I ate 2 big bowl of rice to top up my carbs...

Pasir Ris Park >>> Changi V

But we stopover at one of our friend's house for reunion BBQ!!! Shiok!! Got prawns... Chicken wings... Chilli sotong and Nokia charger...

Route 8

Changi V >>> East Coast Park Carpark G

No pics... Just imagine we were very shag and most of us limping our way. Some looked like penguin, some look like the soldiers in WE WERE SOLDIERS.

But we managed to power nap just b4 the Checkpoint 8.

Route 9

East Coast Park Carpark G >>> Big Splash

Buay tahan liao... Stop at 7-11 to top up sodium... While waiting for Jack to buy 100 plus... I was busy massaging...


Look at the 2 blocks of brick on my feet... From this pic onwards, I removed them and walked with my socks for the remaining journey...

Finally!!! After 22hrs 15mins and 05 secs... We reached our check point 9...

Power nap again!!!







And this is where I ate the most expensive pack of twisties in my life... $2.65...

Route 10 (Final Lap)

As the sun goes up... Our batt. decreased exponentially...

So this is our END POINT ALREADY!!!!

Brought the purpose of socks to the next level... From ECP Mac to SMU... Holes are forgiven...

Lying down on the floor like what I always do along the route and looking at the clear blue sky... enjoying the breeze... So grateful that I'm still alive and my legs are still with me...

Aft 25hrs of hardship... I finally got a cert which doesn't belongs to me!!! Hahaa.a...
